Last night the Cavaliers hosted us and over 40 educators from schools, afterschool programs, and community centers in the Cleveland area at Quicken Loans Arena for a Tip-Off Clinic. The purpose was to get all of the educators who will participate in the Cleveland Chapter Initiative familiar with the NBA Math Hoops game, but as an added bonus they got a little taste of what life is like for NBA stars! They arrived and parked in the player parking lot directly underneath the arena, had to walk right passed the Cavs' locker room to get to our banquet hall, and were escorted by Cavaliers staff members the whole way!

We all got to know each other, then Nick Monzi, our Director of Programs, walked everyone through how to play the game and let the educators loose to play 2 vs. 2. People understood the game quickly, and by the end of the night things got pretty intense! I heard many screams of "Come on, Kyrie!" or "Please please please make this shot!" It's so great to see teachers get caught up in the excitement of gameplay. All of the educators were incredible people, and we could not be more excited to have them as Chapter Leaders for our first City Chapter Initiative.
